Sydney's Barbie Video
3 Comments Published by Bryce Ashlin-Mayo on Monday, December 24, 2007 at 3:10 PM.
It has been one of those crazy couple of weeks and due to some procrastination, mixed with a need to be creative, I stumbled across this video on my computer and had to edit it, add music and make this movie. It will probably lead to Mike killing me, but it is worth it.You can download the files here:
Enjoy!!!

For the last two years my friends (Greg and Randall) and I have done an introduction video for our Sunday Morning Easter Service (click here for last years). This year's theme was "Capturing the Meaning of Easter" so we came up with several ideas. With each video we do we always comment on how complex they have gotten with scripts, props, lighting, etc. This time we even utilized a leica reel (I included the link for that as well). If nothing else, it was fun and I think it really added to the morning service. Hats off to Greg and Randall for all their work on this and every video we do - it is always fun and they are great friends.

The following are the links to my Bolivia Video that I showed on Sunday in Church. The trip was amazing and there are so many things I could say but since a picture is supposed to be worth a thousand words I thought the video would suffice. Here are the links in a number of formats:

Low Quality Video (17 Megs)
Once again…thanks to all those who prayed for me!

It was a lot of fun to do and I only wish we had outtakes recorded. Randal’s “Ohhhh Cleopatra” took a few takes to get an “appropriate” sound and we both messed up lines like crazy. Kudos go mainly to Randal for the voice and 3D animation of Bruno – he spent a ton of time dong the post-production/animation – his creative genius always amazes me. Although I am the on screen anti-talent, Greg and Randal did most of the work. They are great friends and I thoroughly enjoy working on these projects with them. Honestly…it's just fun to hang-out.
As a side note, Nathanial and Sydney have started to use Bruno’s phrase: “See ya later cupcakes.” It was cute for a while but after the twentieth time in less than accurate usage it is getting rather annoying.

Nathanial's First Movie - Episode VII
4 Comments Published by Bryce Ashlin-Mayo on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at 6:25 PM.
So Nathanial (my son) and I spent the afternoon making his first movie: Star Wars Episode VII. He's six, he loves Star Wars and when you watch the movie it is important to keep those facts in mind. I know the characters are mishmashed together from different episodes and the plot makes absolutely no sense but he loves it and that's all that matters. We filmed it using a webcam, downloaded sound clips and using Windows MovieMaker.Spelberg and Lucas watch out!

Derek Selinger Tribute Video Fixed
Published by Bryce Ashlin-Mayo on Monday, January 09, 2006 at 7:05 PM.
For whatever reason, the last part (20 sec. or so) of the "high quality video" file for the Derek Selinger Tribute Video was cut off. It's now been fixed. Sorry for the confusion.

My friend, Derek Selinger (who is a professional magician), was on French TV this weekend. His performance was great. The show was what I understood, in my “cereal box French,” to be a Variety Hour (or two hours as the case may be). Watching it, I wasn’t sure who the people were that were sitting around the table talking in between each performance. Since I can’t speak French, I was even more confused. So I had an idea: in the tradition of Derek and I dubbing voices as we watched TV (driving our wives crazy I might add), I decided to dub in my own voices. This is what I think they were saying after Derek’s performance. This is for you Derek…
